Many Central Vermont flood victims are now receiving peace of mind. A recent headline from USA Today read “Vt. approves buyouts for 99 flooded homes”, demonstrating the help and the hope facing many owners of Central Vermont real estate who were devastated by Irene. While there are a couple of entities involved in the reimbursement, homeowners will basically recover 100% of the value of their homes if approved.

Owners of homes in Barre, Northfield, and Rochester Vermont are among those expected to receive reimbursement for flood damage. Many Central Vermont homes were damaged beyond repair, others are simply in too precarious of a location to be repaired due to the risk of future flooding.
